On Tuesday, the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon was launched at our school by Tim Cahill.
Over 2,600 Melbournian kids will take to the water, the bike and the track, on Sunday 12 March 2017 at Catani Gardens as the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, the largest triathlon series for children on the planet, aims to build resilient, happy Aussie kids with a love of physical activity that will last a lifetime! Since its inception, over 190,000 Aussie Kids have participated in the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon. Now in its 19th year, the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon Series are on the search for the 200,000 participant as they continue to encourage more Aussie kids to ’give it a TRY’ in a fun and rewarding environment.
Hundreds of our children met Tim and I overheard him say we were the ‘loudest’ school that he has been at! The screams and sheer enthusiasm when he entered King’s Hall nearly sent the roof flying!
Tim spoke to the children, answered many, many questions, played soccer with children from Year 5, signed hats and t-shirts and took the time to hear a little one read a piece of work he had written about Tim! It put a huge smile on everyone’s face who was there!
Thanks to Sam Cheshire who made this event possible for the children.
These photos say it all!
