at risk & extension programs

Children  ‘at risk’ or achieving ‘above’ their peers are catered for through Individual Learning Plans, where meetings are held each term between the teacher and parents to set goals, monitor their child’s progress and clarify the expectations of the home/school partnership.  Our partnership with the Ardoch Youth Foundation support children at risk through the provision of classroom volunteers who assist implementing each students Individual Learning Improvement Plan Goals.

Children in Year One ‘at’risk’ in reading may attend the Reading Recovery Intervention program if they are not reading at the end of Prep. It is an intensive daily program requiring a commitment from parents and follow up homework each night for 20 weeks.
