I write with some very sad news. Emma McMillan, a long term staff member at Bubup Nairm, passed away last week after a brief illness. Emma had worked in children’s services at Port Phillip her entire working life. She commenced as a work experience student at age 16 and then worked at St Kilda North Children’s Centre and then Bubup Nairm. While working at Port Philip, Emma completed her Certificate 3, her Diploma and then graduated with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Her colleagues describe Emma as the “heart” of Bubup Nairm and said her impact with children and families was broad and wide. Emma was a fabulous teacher with an enduring passion for children. Emma was an equally passionate mum to her three young children.
I am aware that Emma played a significant role in the lives of many of our children and families.
