SKPS offers a number of enriching extra curricula activities both during and out of school hours. In 2007 the following programs are being offered:

Musicorp operates an instrumental program for children interested in learning an instrument from Years 3-6 on Tuesdays. Half hour small group lessons are provided each week and school ensemble rehearsals are held weekly in addition to the lessons. The following instruments are currently being offered: trumpet, clarinet, flute and percussion.

Guitar lessons are offered on Fridays. This program is also operated by Musicorp.

Keyboard – Music Melodies offers a keyboard program for students from Years 2-6. This program operates on Thursdays and children can choose to attend lessons privately or in small groups.

All children learning instruments are provided with opportunities to perform at whole school events, in competition with other schools and at school assemblies and local community events.

Funkey Music is a dance and drama program for students Prep to Year 6. The sessions are held after school on Tuesdays from 3.30-5.30 in our music room.

Tennis for children Prep-6 operates Tuesday mornings and afternoons and Thursday mornings. We have 2 tennis coaches, Tom and Daryl, who greatly inspire the children.

An Arts Program operates Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school. It is a wonderfully creative program and is run by a keen parent, Natasha.

Vic Cric, Vic Footy and Vic Soccer all are held on our school oval throughout the year on Saturdays. Dino, the coach easily motivates the children. The programs are offered to all SKPS children and other interested children. (See below)

Cricket | Footy & Soccer

cricket

Vic Cric runs a program on our school oval on Saturday mornings for children .

Vic Cric teaches girls and boys aged between five and twelve, the skills of one of the world’s great games. Founded in 1993, Vic Cric is winning widespread support from parents and participants alike who appreciate that it is not always winning that counts.

The aim of Vic Cric clinics is to give younger boys and girls the opportunity to participate in an activity usually afforded older children. Vic cricketers will improve their hand/eye co-ordination, motor/ball skills, & enjoy valuable social interaction with kids their own age thereby enhancing their self esteem, in a non-competitive and friendly environment.
