ST KILDA PRIMARY SCHOOL FETE
FRIDAY 15th NOVEMBER 2019
4PM – 9PM
Our inaugural Twilight Fete is less than two weeks away. The children are busy preparing their activities and stalls for the afternoon and I am so proud of them all.
They are particularly excited to have their friends and family join them on Friday November 15, 2019 – there really is something for everyone:
Our Children’s Stalls
Preps: Sustainability and Prep ‘hangout tent’ – games, books – ‘Chill Zone’
Year 1s – Home-made Jam stall – YUM
Year 2s – Herb, Vegetable and Succulent Stall – You can find the Grade 1 and 2 stalls under the arbour (near the Dickens Street gate)
Year 3s – Robotics Exhibition with interactive games (Performing Arts room)
Year 4s – Have you seen those amazing billy carts around the school? Who will win? All billy carts will be raffled at the fete and the winning billy cart will be auctioned on the main stage by McGrath Real Estate during the night
Years 5/6 – they have been working hard in the Enterprise Unit and look at their impressive stalls:
- Build a Burger – Thank you to Damn Fine Foods for their generous donation to this team
- Bubble Up for Tea – refreshing and chilled
- Craft Stall including ‘Scrunch a Bunch’ – scrunchies, ‘Sunshine Jewellery’- homemade earrings and make your own bracelets and ‘Dr Belle Slime & Bath Bombs’
- Edible Bakery – taco bowls and cookie bowls (next door to the food stall)
- Popfun – selling flavoured popcorn (next door to the sweet stall)
- Sugar Rush – cake pops, lollipops, marshmallow biscuits (also next door to the sweet stall)
- Botanica (homemade pots for plants) and Love Earth, Get Crafty (upcycled crafts)
- Sensationally Sweet: Decorate your cakes and cookies and try homemade honeycomb
- Year 5 Games (on the oval)
- Beats & Tracks – roving stall. Watch out for them!
Do we need more, well YES! Because, we couldn’t run our fete without our amazing school community. Take a look at our parent run stalls:
Donations needed now
Choc Toss: Krista organises the Choc Toss like a ‘well oiled machine’. Past students still talk about the phenomena that is the ‘Choc Toss’. Donations of blocks of chocolate can also be left at the office.
Second Hand Clothing: If you haven’t had a clothes cull yet, you had better hurry because Colleen is busily pricing and sorting items ready for her stall. Please leave all donations of clean, quality adult clothes at the main office.
Lucky Bottles: Always a favourite with the adults to our fete is the Lucky Bottle Stall. Spin the wheel to see what bottle you win, but let’s be serious, everyone’s a winner! Wine donations can be left at the office.
Baking donations needed on the day of the fete
Sweet Stall: Organised by Rachelle Porter and Kathryn Howley, this stall is always a favourite. Selling Snow-Cones and Fairy Floss, Rachelle and Kathryn are also asking for donations of sweet treats. Please leave your donations at the office on Thursday 14 or on Fete day.
Cakes: Ann, Simone and Pru are holding a cake stall but not only cakes but any savoury baked goods will be welcome too. Think Cakes, Savoury Muffins, Quiches etc. Here is a link to some easy recipes if you are a bit short on ideas: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yYK_xPjrqJDwqhyjl3uq6JFCfg-C5PAF?usp=sharing. Please bring donations to the cake stall (old canteen steps) or to the office during the day on Friday 15th November.
Other stalls to enjoy
SKPS Food Stall: Sara and Sanjay are organising some fine fete fare and the menu is looking delicious: Sausages (well it is a fete!); Quesadillas and Jerked Chicken Burgers (and the option of a cold drink). So, invite the neighbours, friends and relatives, they definitely won’t go home hungry!
Face Painting: Bree and her creative team will have your children clamouring for a SKPS face design. Face Painting is $5 or $8 depending on the design.
Photo Booth: Some call John Hyslop a master behind the lens! John will be organising the photo booth in the Performing Arts area. John has backdrops and props and who wouldn’t want a fun memento of the fabulous 2019 Twilight fete? $5 per photo.
Bar: Another favourite of the adults, Luci is organising the bar in a discreet area outside the library (on the decking). Mountain Goat Beer, a wide selection of wines and sparkling will be available as well as a refreshing Aperol Spritz.
