Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day was just beautiful. This year our visitors arrived at 2.00pm, which according to every person I spoke to, was a perfect starting time. One boy said it was great because his Nan and Pop never get out of bed until lunchtime!
The sun was shining and our visitors were collected from assembly by their little ones and headed straight into classrooms. At 3.00pm we all gathered in King’s Hall for a feast! We had an absolute smorgasbord of food.
Many stayed on the watch the Kelly Woodford Cup. I spoke with many grandparents and they simply loved the day. The children, of course, were thrilled!
Our annual Kelly Woodford Cup was incredible! Perfect day! Huge crowd! Naturally, the children conquered!
We had many staff and parents who cooked the snags and made hundreds of snow-cones. So many children and parents registered to play. It was such a joy to watch with everyone playing happily side-by-side.
Dino Marnika did his magic organising jumpers, the scoreboard and a siren from St Kilda City. Chris Share set up the sound system and a number of our staff and parents commentated. Our wonderful Rhonda again pulled the event together! Badges were presented to every little player.
Thank you also to: Stuart Galloway who did the artwork for the KWC badges, Nicole & Anthony, Genevieve Lewicki, our coaches, Ben Cunningham & Angelo Portelli, Sam & Michael Rankin and Jeanette Keser
Fantastic work by Sam Cheshire, Mick Rennie and Michael Johnson and to our commentators: Fiona Hall and Colin Lane! Brilliant work everyone! Thank you.
