Our friends from our Sister School in Japan, Ishigase Elementary School, will be arriving in Melbourne in mid-August. Our sister school relationship is highly valued and enriches the lives of so many children and their families, both in St Kilda and Japan.
Greg Shew sought expressions of interest to host our Japanese friends, both students and staff and was inundated with offers. Thank you!
The Japanese children (each will be accompanied by a parent) and the staff will be billeted out and will share Aussie life with some of our families. I would love to thank the following families who have generously opened up their homes and hearts: the Wetzels, Wagenhoff, Grant, Bauer, McLoughlin, Rawling, Fletcher and Webb families.
There will be many events organised for our visitors to enjoy, one being the Welcome Ceremony, which will be held at the St Kilda Town Hall. At this heart-warming ceremony, every child will perform a musical item. Practice is well underway! Parents/carers will be offered the opportunity to see the performance and to be part of the Welcome Ceremony. Please stay tuned for further information early next term.
