The Japanese culture was certainly brought to life during our Matsuri Day festivities today! What an incredible day!
An enormous thank you to Greg Shew, our Japanese teacher, who organised the day’s events. Thank you also to Amanda Loder who was a significant support. I would also like to thank the parents who were highly valued ‘additional hands’.
Our cherubs participated in a variety of activities including: a traditional tea ceremony, a drumming performance by Wadaiko Drummers, dancing with a group of highly skilled Japanese women, whole school sushi/dumpling races, listened to a Tanabata story, practised their origami and calligraphy skills and created lanterns and koinobori.
It was an excellent day. Thank you for the support provided regarding the outfits the children wore on the day. Absolutely amazing!
