National Tree Day

There is no doubt about it, SKPS can celebrate in style and we certainly have today!
It’s National Tree Day and our cherubs certainly look the part. Nature abounds everywhere you look!
Children donated a gold coin  and our Nature Clubs treasures counted a staggering $655.25! We promised the children that we would match the amount they raised, so we have $1310.50. In addition we will include the Testra Grant for $1200 bringing us to $2510.50 to spend on tress to green up our school.
Bunnings  (Collingwood) kindly donated a Willow Myrtle (4 feet tall) for the Enchanted Garden. It is a beautiful indigenous ever green, happy with full sun and low water rating, so perfect for the west side of the school. It also has white flowers, which attracts nectar eating birds.
Nature Club students assisted David from Bunnings to plant the tree. Sean and Paul from Planet Ark were also in attendance to celebrate this momentous occasion!
Thank you to Jackie Netherway and Anabel Herr for organising the event.
The happy snaps below say it all.
