Gene Blackley took on the immense task to give our old tired looking decks a facelift and started oiling the Sakura deck last year. He just finished the Shiawase entrance deck to the library, you might have noticed him wearing one of our beautiful red school hats after school and on weekends! The deck looks absolutely stunning and we are so grateful for him devoting his personal time to make our school look more beautiful.

Fortunately for us we will not need to oil some of our decks in the future as they are made out of ModWood, like the new ramps leading up to the Shiawase building and on the Manabi deck. 90% of ModWood is is made of recycled materials like plastic milk bottles and waste products like pine saw dust, which would otherwise be squandered, potentially ending up as landfill.
