The Year 2s have been learning about the significance of the Olympic games. Over the term they designed a new game with their teams. They had to consider the aim, rules, how much space they needed and equipment required. Each class was assigned a different skill that they needed to incorporate into their game such as running, throwing and jumping, and teamwork was a focus. Students were given the opportunity to play their games and make any necessary changes.
The Year 2s did such a fantastic job creating their games. While designing their games they learned skills such as collaboration, trial and error, critical thinking and teamwork.
On Wednesday September 7th, with the gorgeous sun warming our skin, the Year 2s ran an Olympics Day with the Junior School. They had to teach their games to the Preps and Year 1 classes as well as record the results of the teams. It was a terrific day and the Year 2s did a fantastic job hosting our Junior School Olympics!
