The Chives playing at The 2008 Festival of the Boot

2008 Festival of the Boot

St Kilda Primary School had its annual Festival of the Boot, pitting parents against kids on Saturday 13 September. At stake was the Kelly Woodford cup, named after former Headmaster L. Kelly and St Kilda Councillor Woodford who, in 1966, negotiated the handover of land which became the school’s oval.

The Festival of the Boot was initiated by a group of St Kilda Primary School parents in 2006 to celebrate the oval’s 40th anniversary. For the last two years the kid’s team has won by four points, and the parent’s team were hungry to make amends.

And, in 2008, the kids did it again.

The kids were proud to win the trophy again in 2008.
