On Friday we held our RUOK? Day. The school was awash in a sea of yellow and it seemed that there was extra care and love in the air. Children were stopping and asking each other and staff if they were okay.
I would like to acknowledge and congratulate the children in Year 4 who hosted RUOK? Day. They aimed to raise awareness of the power of asking a friend ‘Are you okay? This supports the work they have been doing in class and with CASEA and also reflects one of our school’s Annual Implementation Plan goals.
The children set out to empower others across the school by sharing and discussing strategies to support themselves and friends in need. They also ran activities across all classrooms throughout the day, sharing what they have been learning about leadership, adversity, kindness and meaningful conversations. They created engaging short videos, informational posters and used a number of different teaching strategies to promote and encourage kindness.
Thank you my darlings in Year 4! It was a fabulous day!
