On 06/09/2018 some of the Year 5 leaders represented St Kilda Primary School at the Sustainability Festival. The leaders came from the Cleaner Schools, Climate Action and Water group. It was held at the St Kilda Town Hall and lots of schools across Bayside and Port Phillip attended.
This year we got the opportunity to do a stage presentation. In the week leading up to the festival we worked very hard together to create an IMovie to show everything our school does for sustainability. We talked about the 17 UN sustainable development goals, how we developed our own SKPS goals and our Water, Waste, Biodiversity, Energy, and what we have been doing in leadership this year.
After the presentation a few other kids came up to us and asked about different actions we had done. I believe we really inspired other schools to be even more sustainable. I was also extremely surprised with the amount of other children there. I am proud of our school and other children who are trying to help save our environment.
The rest of the morning we spent the day in workshops other schools had created. The workshops taught us about ocean litter, penguins in the bay and what their school has done.
